Car Import

Many of us become very attached to our motor vehicles and may want to bring them with us when we move, even overseas. Think carefully before making this decision. Here are some things to consider:
  • In some countries cars are driven on the left hand side of the road and the steering wheel in the cars is on the left hand side also – will you be allowed to drive a right hand drive and indeed will you feel comfortable doing so.
  • Is your company going to pay for the shipping or will you have to dig deep in to your own pockets?
  • Should you buy a car in you new country – it may be less expensive than importing?
  • What are the tariffs if any on importing cars in the country you are relocating to?
Most countries will honor the driving license of your country of origin for a specified period of time.
